Hey guys, I'm editing 720p 24PN video in Avid Xpress Pro 5.7.2, and I exported two clips as QT Ref to do a composite in AE CS3. For some reason, when my timeline in AE has a cut between the two 720p video layers, the video flashes white for a frame or two, and sometimes causes AE to crash ('AE can't run anymore, you will receive one chance to save before AE closes' is the gist of what the message says. No error codes are supplied). I can tell that it is the video layer(s) flashing, because the composite has Video1 on the left side of the frame, and Video2 on the right side, with a uniquely shaped feathered mask in between. When RAM previewing (or rendering for output) over this section of the timeline, one Video will flash white, then the other, and crash AE.
Is AE CS3 known for issues when cutting between 720p video clips? Is there anything I can do to fix this issue? Would rendering from Avid in Animation codec or something similarly 'lossless' fix this?
