white file

I made some files on my desk top for different scenes that I'm working on in my film (forest scene, house scene, car scene etc....) anyway here is the question;

I made a file that say forest.veg on the desktop. Another file would pop up saying forest.veg.bak (in white). Is that something I need to keep on my desktop or can I trash it?

That's the backup file. Always a good idea to keep around.
