Which Wide Angle?

Alright one for the pros:

Guys i'm not gonna pretend that i know much of anything about lens, their specs, capabilities, ect. I do I love the feel a wide angle lens gives to a picture. Its wide open, everything in focus, giving equal weight to everything within the frame...call me a romantic but theres something quite stunning about wide angle shots.

I am soon to shoot/direct a short i wrote and feel that in order to be successfull in creating the right mis-en-scene I'm definetly going to need a couple wide angle lenses. I am on a pretty tight budget -would like to spend between 7-9 hundred on two or three lenses. If you were in my position what would you buy.

Thanks and my apologies if this subject has been previously discussed, i tried searching it and didn't find anything that resembled my situation.

LOVE,
Douglas Jessup

Re: Which Wide Angle?

Why do you need more than one? The DVX's stock lens is pretty wide, at 4.5mm. Add the Century .6 onto it and it gets really wide, about 2.9mm. Why would you need another lens? Unless you're shooting with two cameras, I guess.

Also look at the Red Eye, I think that's a .5 so it's even wider, but I've never used one.

The Century .6 goes for around $330 at EVS.

Matthew:
I do have the 100A, what does squeeze mode do?

Barry:
I was interested in getting multiples for different circumstances, ie. wider, landscape, establishing shots, VS. close ups, mediums, tighter shots. - didn't know if different wide angle lenses worked better for different shots.

Thanks
