Which tapes to use-conflicting opinions

Hello, I just ordered the pannie and am looking for what tapes would be best...the panasonic site says to use their tapes but the sales rep. recommended the JVC Pro tapes (jvc dvm60)...I also have a bunch of Sony Exellence tapes laying around.

those sony exellence tapes are the weak link, great tapes but if you dare use any other tape your gonna be screwed.

Use the best (Panasonic) tapes you can afford and stick with them. There are differences between dry lube and wet lube tapes that have been discussed elsewhere on this site.

The Panasonic AY-DVM63MQ tapes are the top Panny tape - about $35 for a 5-pack.

what ever tape brand you choose...stick to that brand....I have been shooting on the Panasonic pro tapes but I recently bought a box of Panasonic Master tapes (the white ones). I will use them after I clean the heads.

How are you going to clean the heads? heh
I assume some isopropyl and some rubber cleaning fluid?
Check out my last post in Barry's thread maybe that will give you some insite to what it is to clean "the heads".
