Which one?

Hi there,

So I've been stuck for awhile now between a couple camera rigs for my Canon 7D. The decision is between the Gini Rig

with the iFocus

OR

The Lanparte shoulder mount

I've heard a great deal about Gini, the quality is really good but I haven't heard any feedback on the iFocus. However, I've also read reviews that Gini is unreliable and can take awhile to get the product.
However, with regards to Lanparte I have heard no feedback from them. They basically both work out as the same price, in terms for it's function I'd prefer a smaller rig that's why I'm siding towards the Lanparte HOWEVER, the Gini rig has a counter balance weight and also can be adjusted to a smaller position
too.. I mean it's essentially a macano set.

In terms of the FF, I've heard the iFocus is good however it only fits on one tube, which could be a problem? Also, I don't think the Gini Rig comes with a lens gear either..

Anyways, I would appreciate some feedback to help me differentiate between the two !

All the best

I picked up a Gini Rig a couple years ago similar to the one you posted, and it's still going strong. No stripped or broken bolts, anodising is still holding up after many outings.

I took a little while to get to me, but nothing too crazy.

I think it's worth every penny.

My thoughts... Rather than purchase a rig exclusively for your 7D which is nearing the end of its lifespan, purchase gear which can be used with any future camera you may purchase.
