Which Monitor to buy? Take a look at these two!

I'm thinking about purchasing either one of these? Have any of you used either of them? Which monitor is comparibly "better" (for focusing/field monitor etc).

Is it for HD or SD. For SD then the second one is fine...but for HD then you should get the marshall.

It's SD, and i am not really looking to spend over 1k for a monitor this moment. You think the second one is better though? Is 5.8 too small though? I keep trying to measure it but still I've never used a 5.8" monitor. Any thoughts? The second one just seems more versatile (flip options), mountable top/bottom...

The first one is about 1/3 the resolution you'd need for SD; it's 480x234. I'd dare say it'd be useless for focusing based on those numbers.

The 5.8 may be a little better, it's got 280,000 pixels but it doesn't say in what configuration. At $595 I wouldn't expect much. Might be okay, but you (rarely) get what you pay for.

I guess it all depends on what you want it for. If it's for framing, maybe it's fine. If it's for focus, it might be a bit better than your on-camera LCD but I'd guess not much better. If it's for an HD or HDV camera, I'd think these products have very little to offer.
