which monitor for fcp+G5?

I'm about to get myself a dual 2.0 ghz G5. I'm not sure which monitor
to get though. I don't think I can afford the apple displays. It's best to get
one with a response time of 16ms or less right? Anyone got any suggestions

I have found I can buy 21" Sony and other Nice CRTs for $75 on Craigs List. No body wants them but they work good.

Not a very hot topic I can see. Guess I'll figure something out myself since

You might look at AG Neovo, a lesser known brand of LCD but was Macworld's top choice, and they still use 'em for their own work. I have a 17 inch, very sharp and reliable.
 
You've got a lot of options out there. If you want to stick with Apple get one (or two) of the previous generation LCD's they work great and are more affordable. (17" is somewhere around $350) you can get them from places like www.smalldog.com.

Otherwise Dell puts out some good LCD's at an affordable price. I think that their 21" is around $800.
