Which mixer for Tascam HD-P2?

I picked up a Tascam HD-P2, not a bad littler recorder but I think I'd like to put a mixer in front of it. I've been looking at the SD Mixpre but it's a little over my head price wise.

Another option is the DV Pro mix 3 which is closer to the cost I'm able to spend.

All of my shoots have been teathered to the cam for audio & the Tascam offered an escape to the that set up. I use the Rode NTG2, BLIMP, and may upgrade to the NTG 3.

Any suggestions on a mixer would be appreciated.

I agree with mcgeedigital. The preamp quality makes a huge difference in recordings and definitely not a place to skimp, SD makes some of the best, .

My 1st mixer was the Pro Mix 3 and I sold it quickly. Spend the extra $$$, you'll thank yourself later. Ebay anything not earning its keep that you have and get a 302.

Thanks for the reply's.

I'll most likely be leaning towards the SD Mixpre as the 302 is out of my price range. Was seriously looking at the Pro mix 3 but as a result of research & your posts, I'll steer clear.

Thanks again
