Which gels to get for britek 500W(2x250w) kit

Hey everyone,
I just bought the 500W britek kit from Rostronics. It's quite nice for the money. First of all, I need to get some gels and was wondering if I should get a manfrotto kit assortment and which one, or some other assortment. Obviously I want some NDs of various darkness, but as to others?, and I have no idea which of the cheaper ones are good. Also, does anyone have any experience with the difference between the 250W and 300W bulbs for the briteck G-300 fixture. And finally, has anyone used the Britek Studio Boom 29? it looks pretty good... Thanks a lot, Mark

You should start off with some neutral density and CTB (tungsten to daylight) filters. When you place an order, make sure you get a filter booklet, then decide what you want from there like moonlight, diffusion and colored filters.

Dude I don't now if there are any rental houses around by you but that is the best place to get gels, They sell it by the rool or just the foot depends on how cool they are. But I get my gels and such for 1.00 a square foot, usually much cheeper than other pre designed kits, and I can pick and choose anything I need or want. But If you don't have any equipment rentals houses by you then an assortment that had some blue and orange for color, maybe some ND if you don't have any kind of dimmer for your lights, and I would say some difusition like Opal and some tougher stuff like 216, or 250. That should start you off in the right direction.

Since I didn't and don't know what I might need, I started with a couple of kits:

1 - Lee Gel Filters Master Location Pack
1 - Lee Gel Filters Lighting Effects Pack

They give you two 12x12 sheets of a basic variety of colors. I bought mine thru someone that has a yahoo store, and I think I paid about $50 for both sets combined. They come in a decent plastic package that serves to store and protect them nicely. I stuff them right inside my Rostronics bag for part of my "quick grab" kit.
