Hello all. What is the best option to export my video to in premiere cs4.

I have to play the film off a DVD which will be projected. Should I choose the dvd mpeg2 option? When I tried that before as a test, it exported my film with a separate .wav file which I am assuming is the audio track.
How can I export it so it plays off the DVD with native sound and I don't have to deal with separate wav files?
Please help thanks

In the Audio tab there is a Multiplexer option, check that and it'll come out as one file.
thank you very much. you are the man if this works.

one other question. How do I make that file play from a DVD in a regular household DVD player? Do I just take the files that the premiere renders and drop them into a DVD writer and then it will play from a DVD player?

thanks

No, you would have to go through a DVD authoring program such as Adobe Encore to actually burn the DVD. The reason you want to export as mpg2 is that Encore will recognizes that and not recompress the file.

thank you very much sir.

and may i ask another question, what if i wanted to play the movie in the highest possible quality from a file on a computer. what should i export it as? h224? or blueray mpeg 2 or what?

thank you

DVDs don't use MPEG audio; they use either PCM (uncompressed WAV) or AC-3. The separate audio file is correct.

thank you so for it to play in a DVD i just drop the .wav file and the movie file into the dvd maker and it will combine them onto the dvd?

thank you

oh and one other thing. it seems to render some other strange files that are .xmp and/or .xmpses ...can you please tell me what this is, should these be dragged into the dvd maker also to make a dvd playable?

It's supposed to. Exactly how you do it varies from program to program. Encore will do it.

The .xmp files are Adobe's metadata. It can be read in Adobe programs. You don't use them for anything else; they do not go on the DVD.
