Which director would you like to take over the Batman franchise?

Nolan said years ago he'd only do three...
just let it be. We don't need more Batman movies. They're not going to top what Nolan did.

While we're all sitting around then, mmm, Chan Wook Park? ....Looks pretty goooooood.

That trailer reminds me a lot of the early french films I used to watch on T.V growing up as a kid. I don't care to pinpoint why at the moment. Probably because I don't know, haha.

This is slightly off topic, but this is what the Chan Wook Park trailer remined me of. I've posted this before. Just that whole feeling and momentum.
Anyways, pardon me. I hope this makes some sense. Thank you.

Zach Snyder.

No really.

Here's why:
Nobody's going to top Nolan's gritty Batman. Even if they got someone like Paul Greengrass, Peter Berg or Martin Campbell, they'd still be compared to Nolan's movies like Schumacher's was compared to Burton's.

So it'd be better to do something completely different with a more stylized feel to it. Snyder is already doing Superman, so he could just bring Batman into that universe.
Also, the soundtrack would be really good and there'd be a lot of slow-motion. Slow-motion is cool.

Me!

But I agree, let it rest for a good while; I need to get some more shorts under my belt first anyway. ;)

Or give it to Alan Smithee, surely that guy is due a hit... In any case, the result couldn't be worse than the Last Schumacher effort. Ugh.

In all seriousness, whoever does it would have to have a strong vision and passion for it. No jobbers or hacks! There are many directors out there who could make it very compelling viewing. The tricky part, as has been mentioned, it the actor. In ten years though, who knows?

If you'd let Snyder at it then I'd say just go one step further towards the source:

Co-directors Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez did a good job on Sin City. Snyder kind of copied that with 300.

How about a Miller and Rodriguez adaption of Millers own Batman comic efforts....?

Seriously? 5 pages in and no one mentioned the elephant in the room?

Tommy Wiseau for crying out loud! Imagine what he could do with framed pictures of bats in the set design!
