I have been looking around for a cheap, but good condensor microphone for recording voice overs for a claymation short I want to shoot. I was at the apple atore and saw the M-audio Nova mic priced at $99 and then read some good reviews of it. But then I asked my friend who is an software designer for an audio company and he said to look at the audio technica at2020 which is priced at $99 as well. I am assumign that mic is better but my question is has anyone used either or those for any type fo vocal recording and their thoguhts. and also, if anyone knows about the behringer b-1 condensor mic because that is $99 and comes with the shock mount and aluminum case as well. any input whatsoever on the voice over process with hardware or which audio program to use please let me know.
I am running a powerbook g4 1.5 with 1.25gb ram and I will be using a m-audio mobilepre with logic 7 express to record
thanks a lot

I have the 2020. It's a good project studio mic for doing voiceover. Ty Ford has a review of the mic on his site. www.tyford.com

I got mine for $89 so it was a no brainer for me. There are definitely better mics for doing voiceover such as the Neumanns, but you'll be paying several hundred dollars and in soime cases several thousand dollars.

The 2020 going through a decent mic preamp and recorded in a reasonably good room should get you what you need.
