Pro lighting kits are expensive but I don't want to get cheap ones. so I'm going to build my lighting kit from scratch and I'll just expand from there.... so I'll need a case/bag to start.
of course I want to fit all my ligths in one case/bag at the end so can anyone recomend me a case/bag? (and where to buy them?)

My plan is to have a lighting kit like this at the end
I already bought a few lowel lights and I'm thinking about getting a few fresnels and a softlight next....
well... basically at the end, I'll want to fit a few lowel lighs, 2or3 fesnels, a softlight, and 5 stands in one case/bag. (with accessries)
so what kind of case/bag should I get???

Theres lots of cases out there, just try to find a nice hard case for your lights and if you can fit everything in the hardcase just put the stands in a bag. Ebay is your friend for building a light kit!

Thanks,

yeah, I've been looking at ebay and it simple seems like it would be so much cheaper to just build my lighting kit rather then buying those expensive lighting packages they offer at B&H....
like how can a basic 3 point light Arri kit cost $3k ...I thinking I could get so much more if I just bought lights separetly if I had $3k:)

anyway, so for the search word what do you type? is there a specific brand anyone recomends?

"Fresnel"
Then whatever brands pop up that you are not familiar with, search them here.
Great deals to be had with ebay. Just be patient. The deals vary week to week.

Edit: although they are "open face", a specific brand not to recommend might be Britek.

I got 3 omni's one tota in a lowel hardcase for 515 on ebay, 2 weeks ago. Let me just say they were barely used at all. one of them has a few scratches from sliding the barndoors off. It took me almost 2 months to get a good deal on ebay, but you can easily get them. I had almost one 3 Lowel DP lights for 600 but it was far to much in Canadian dollars, plus im international for shipping. What happened to free trade???

Just wait and you will find deals. Lowel is a good brand, mole richardson is good, berkley colortran lights are old but can easily be rewired for 30 bucks. I found a 1k colortran for 13$ and i was not described well, wire was messed up etc. and I rewired it, the thing works great.

Go to continous lighting on ebay or search Lowel, mole, etc. and search. DO NOT BUY FROM KOREA AND CHINA!!! You will see an amazing deal on a nice lighting kit, but god knows if those things will catch on fire and burn your house down.

Any questions just PM me, I just went through the whole buying lights thing.

Hi Guys,

Looking for a case that would fit 2 arri 650s + barndoors attached along with one or two extension cords. Something not terribly expensive and doesn't have to be robust as I won't be traveling on a plane with them.

Suggestions?
