Which Cam did they use for Borat

I think that they are probably using small cams like pd-150's for cops, but not completely sure.
 
I actually think they shoot cops on Beta. I don't know which model. But, I know a shooter who shot many seasons for them and I believe it was Beta.
 
hmmm I can't imagine lugging heavy betacams around trying to chase cops and stuff. I didn't think that the quality looked that good either....but who knows
 
Yep, COPS is shot on BetaSP (at least it was a few years ago). I did my internship at a place that did some work for them. They had bullet proof vests in the equipment room just for those shoots.
 
I thought it was an f900, but yea it was a shoulder mount, so its more than possible that it was shot on a varicam, it would not have been a good idea shooting on SD DV25, because one of the output was film. So shooting HD was a good choice, not because they wanted "film-looks", they wanted that documenatry look (I'm assuming). It had to look "reality TV" to pull of the comedy. I think if it looked like a film say like "training day" then just the look alone would kill the comedy (because the fixed camera shots and film look, would make it seem too scripted, hence overly fake)
