I have a few Ultimates. Honestly anyone one of them should be good. Just make sure its not made out of plastic. They tend to tip over easily but a sand bag will fix the job. Really, there all the same.
I just used a Proline that I picked up at Guitar Center for $40 and it worked great. I was recording an interview and didn't want to go wireless, so it had enough height to get it out of the shots. And, very stable.
Hey, I just bought the same boom at Guitar Center too. Works fine. I do put a sandbag on the bottom just in case. I'm the kind that tends to do stupid things. I can just see the boom and mic falling into the camera, knocking it off the tripod, and watching it all crash to the floor. A little extra stability never hurts. Pretty decent though for $40.
