Which Adaptor for HVX200?

I've had the HVX for almost a year and i have not done anything with it.

I'm contemplating using a 35MM adaptor with it. What would you guys recommend?

M2? Letus Extreme? Or others?

Which one provides best quality with least resolution loss? I wouldn't mind even if the images were taped inverted.

Let me know. Thanks

its more difficult to use a 35mm adapter so if you haven't done anything with it yet, i don't know that adding an adapter will make it any easier. I personally chose the SGpro but its subjective. Look at footage and decide from that.

The all are about the same with resolution, you need to search and look through the forums to see the positives and negatives of each.

Well i had used the Letus35 with the DVX and the image quality was bad. The colors were off and i believe it lost a lot of resolution.

Then for a friend's project we used M2 with the DVX. Even though the image was flipped... the quality was way better.

That's why im curious what everyone's is using and recommending for HVX.

The original Letus cannot be compared with the modern Letus. The Letus Extreme is a world-class adapter. The original inexpensive Letus? Um, not so much. :)

If you go SGPro like I just did, be sure to add the step down ring for the HVX200. I just got my SGPro yesterday and went to assemble last night. Then I found out that I forgot to order that step down ring. :(

The SG folks have been very responsive to my questions and mistakes - they seem to be a great group, like many of the ppl here.

Ho...

Thanks guys... Thats great information.

Now if i can find someone who can sell their Letus Extreme so i can save some $

You'll hardly save money. People can sell it near retail just because of the 4 week wait. Same goes for SG Pro. Bite the bullet today and start that 4 week wait.

Brevis and M2 you can save on because for anything close to retail, you might as well get a brand new unit in a few days time.

Adaptor advice.

Adaptor advice.

I'm in the opposite situation from what you are. I have a Redrock M2, and Nikkor and Zeiss lenses, and no HVX200. I'm saving up for one. After looking at the sample footage on Redrock's website, pairing the HVX with the M2 and Zeiss ZF lenses, it simply looks unsurpassed for richness and clairity. So much so, that I'e already bought the M2 and lenses without seeing for myself what they look like on the hvx. I've seen a lot of footage shot with the Letus or Brevis, and short of the P&S Mini35, I wouldn't consider anything else. Besides, I got an M2 HD bundle for $1430 including shipping, which isn't bad at all. I spent much more on the lenses.
