Which adapter works best with Sony pmw-ex1?

I used the EX1 with the blade and the *new* optics a few weeks ago, and I only noiced focus drop off in the extreme corners of the frame. I got sharp focus on the GG right up to the edges of the screen.

Images looked amazing with the blade/ex1 and Zeiss ZF primes. Really good combination.

Also I forgot to mention Martin Beeks has a great blog where he's tested just about every adapter out there in detail. Martin is certainly one of the most technically proficient and exacting DPs out there, and he gives his impressions on most of the available adapters.

ahhhh, he's not that busy. i just noticed him on the other forum. looks like he's busy with his Canon 5d MarkII.

geez a guy posts something for first time on the "other forum" in ten days and he is accused of abandoning his first love.

I have just returned from shooting a commercial in Bulgaria on the 5d, currently editing it. Hoping to on Saturday take my new Redrock Encore out for a spin on the ex3 and see how she fares. Looks great so far!!

i have a bloody harem! try keeping them all happy...it's impossible. My relationships with my cameras and adpators is like "Big Love", scheduling equal time with them all is tough! Yes my new young addition is a lot of fun, but I haven't abandoned my old faves!

Look forward to seeing that if we can. Ive just put through a pitch for a commercial thats been accepted and slated to shoot on VDSLR (did that so I could buy one - handy hey!) only issue is I havent yet settled on my choice.

Phillip on the PAL 5d you get 25p? Sorry I should just search that.

HEH, which is a big advantage and also adds the need to look at different components as compared to NTSC. Problem I have is theres not much up in the way of PAL clips from the 5d or GH1. Need to get into that.
 
Great to see, Mr Bloom back on the boards indeed, His Blade test was brilliant, His 2 G35 shorts were even more so and now to test out the Encore out, that will be fantastic.

Sincerely though, I think here is a little too much MKII , GH1-DSLR on the forums nowadays, but i guess it's what's in right now. But we can't keep running out to buy a new piece of gear every time there is something new out. It feels constantly like we are always chasing something or perhaps using new gear as an excuse to why we will wait to fulfill our inner achievements.

We should learn how to get the most out of what we have and what we shoot! It's the passion and creativity that makes a film great, not just the tools. That's why i admire Philip Bloom's adapter work most.
Sometimes this all makes me feel more prosumer & trendy than a filmmaker. Look forward to the ENCORE test! Welcome back!

i think you misunderstand what I said. ALL 5d's no matter where they are from are 30p. To get 25p you have to conform or convert, neither ideal. All my GH1 clips are 25p.
 
Anyway...the encore is one gorgeous looking bit of kit in a lovely peli case and some very nice rods...don't forget my last Redrock M2 experience was over 2 years ago so I think I am going to be in for a shock...just got to find the energy to get it done.
