Where'd Everybody Go?

Don't know but perhaps it's some network connectivity prob? At least I had a strange problem yesterday evening (here in germany at least). While every other major site was still working and it's address could be resolved the same wasn't true for dvxuser.com ... neither dvxuser.com nor www.dvxuser.com could be resolved by my providers DNS server. :-/

in my HOSTS file.

Let's go to all the threads and reply to each and every one with something silly, so the gang will have something to look at when DNS is fixed.

I had the same problem. Tried Jarred's other web site (www.zoomforce.com), same thing.

Okay, HOSTS file it is. Hopefuly the IP won't change any time soon - I am forgetful, and I would probably wonder what happened if the site moved.
 
I couldn't connect to the site all day. Had no problems with other websites (big-women-on-top.com, large-and-in-charge.com, etc.)*

Yeah I did the same and added the IP to my hosts file... than I was able to access dvxuser again however (nearly) nobody posted so it was sort of pointless in the end :-))
Glad everyone is back now... and regarding posting something silly in every thread.. isn't that what we already normally do? ;-P

When I couldn't connect yesterday afternoon and evening, I did a whois and tried pinging the host and noticed couldn't connect to server, but the name servers up the path were fine.

Then something strange happened, I found myself starting to go through dvxuser withdrawal. I even when over to dvinfo.net and signed up for a fix. Didn't feel quite the same, like a new brand of joe, but hey it got me through the night.

Ah......... high on dvx again!
 
I couldn't connect until just now for the last day and half. Spent all my time at fbxshows.com.

I wasn't going through withdrawals........I was just damned bored. I ended up watching some music videos at launch.com.

Brand New's video for Sic Transit Gloria is awesome. I love the look of it.
 
yeah! I'm back!

phew..

i spent sometime "elsewhere" learning about advanced storage options ( or trying to learn) and another measly site about video for "real people." eh-hem.
 
I was so bored at work last night without DVXuser. I even went to DVinfo to see if anybody had started a thread about how the site was down.

I think we need a contingency plan, in case this happens again. DVXdontpanic.com

John Hudson....keep quite till Friday.......NEVER!!!

Last time I saw he was down to around 9980, only 20 posts between now and Friday.....NEVER!!!
 
ha ha yeah go figure.. I was away for the last two days.. in a fancy hotel in the middle of nowhere in the mountains that had zero internet.... even zero cellphones. and you thought you had withdrawls? I was going nuts. this place is supposed to be a relaxing retreat and I swear to god I became worse than a crack addict.

Then of course.. murphy's law, server goes down yesterday and I have no idea till good old Noah phones me this afternoon...

I should have something set up so all the members automatically get sent coloring books as soon as the server goes down. Keep you all out of trouble, I bet the crime rate went up 50% last night.
