Where to Shoot Infomercial (5min Book Introduction)

Heartfelt

Well-known member
I have a customer who wrote a book. The subject matter has to do with martial arts and some of the concerns regarding kids and families. The guy is an ex-national-champ.

I will be cutting from cover pics, martial arts footage and author discussion footage. The author footage will be filmed this Saturday in Houston. The thought has been to find something outside that would be an interesting background but here are my concerns:

1. Avoiding the all too common "stroll through the park" footage
2. Power Availability for equipment

I would appreciate any input you guys may have.

My fall back is black background (interview feel) to keep a mysterious feel about it all. (is that the best idea to you?)
Thanks in advance
Rob

Hey there from Houston....

Stroll through the park footage is kinda boring. Considering he wrote a book about martial arts, I'd assume that he has a dojo or some such in town. It would make sense to do an interview setup there if you can get access when it's closed.

I shot something in a martial arts studio while a class was going on in the background. It was a nightmare for sound (Luckilly we were shooting two camera setups) but the footage was great.

Ya, I know the obvious implication. Unfortunately, he is not advertising martial arts in a positive light. It is more about the concerns and... I have footage in play already that was filmed in a dojo with tournies and such.

Might want to look into private medical supply warehouses in town, might be able to re-create the look of an ER room without having to deal with the hassle, noise, and enviroment of the real ER.

I know in NY there was a medical supply place down the road that I used to rent gurney's, EKG machines, and etc for shoots. Not sure if Houston has an equivalent....but since there is so much medical business here anything is possible.
