where to get HD Cam copy?

can anyone recommend a place to transfer my film to hd cam? I am in new york.

What format do these transfer places prefer for the transfer? do you just send in a DVD -r?
 
What is your source? What format? Frame rate? When you say DVD-R are you saying it is a DVD as in a movie DVD or files stored on a DVD-R disc?

I render out using MPEG2 format. Frame rate is 24pn. Shot on HVX200. Yes...it is a movie DVD.

Do they want raw files?
 
MIght be easier to leave it in its native format and let a facility play it out to HDCAM. Right now you are going through an additional compression step that is not really needed.

I use SpeedEdit. So I'll save the whole time line on an external HDD, send this out, and they do the rest?
 
Just email a few post houses asking for a quote. Tell them you have your footage in DVCPRO HD 24pn and want to convert to HDCAM, they'll give you an approximate price, and tell you what format you need to deliver it in.

Also, bring your own HDCAM tapes for them to write it on, post houses always charge waay too much for hdcam tapes.
