where to get 1/4" thumbscrews or d-ring screws

i want to replace the regular screws in my quick-release plates with the types you can screw in using just your thumbs - anyone know where to get them?

I get mine at Home Depot because its convenient.

You will also find them in Lowes, and ACE Hardware.

Check those "special fasteners" drawers at home depot/lowes. I found some like the one above there.

these would not work in a quick-releas eplate since a section of it needs to be thread-free - look at the HAMA screws that hoarp001 posted. those are close to what i need except they're too big to fit into a quick release plate - what i really need is something like these

I know what you mean now. Yeah that would be really useful, I have not been able to find where to buy replacements...

A DIY solution may be using a grinder to shave off some of the threads on a thumb screw.
