Where to find used lighting equipment

Hello all

Other than maybe dvxuser, where would one find used lighting equipment, especially used HMI's? Looking around and the viability of purchasing a used Arri (or industry equivalent) 2.5HMI compact with electronic ballast.

The other option which I'm quite interested in is the Cinemills SUFA Bullet 200, 400, and 800, part of the viability question.

If you are in the USA, there are a lot of auctions that take place which are worth checking out. Lights sometimes being sold off relatively cheap.

Also go on Facebook and there are quite a few large used groups.

Ebay, forums and increasingly Facebook buy/sell groups are the places to go (if you're outside of the US, where getting this stuff is easy).

Also check with the rental houses there in South Africa. Many of them cycle gear after a few years, and sell off old stock after purchasing new lighting instruments which are more in demand.

Thanks for the USA links. never knew about the others besides FB. How do you guys feel about the FB groups? Ebay is always nice 'cause of the protection. FB you only have the word of another human being. I got a Lectro system from the JWS forum (different world I know) but had a local sound guy who knows a lot of those members vouch for the seller.
