Where to buy used lighting and grip gear in Australia?

Looking for any ideas/suggestions on where I can buy used lighting and grip gear in Australia as it seems everywhere I look (Google, etc.) has plenty of places in the states, but no where in Australia.

What I'm after are lights - HMI's, fresnels, dedo's, kino's, anything really. Stands, clamps and various grip parts.
 
Yeah good luck Matt. Impossible to find. Theres the odd one on ebay. In NZ they have a swap meet every so often, bit of a trip though.
 
Hence the reason I posted this thread. It seems that every other country with a film/production industry seems to have some place to buy used gear - except Australia that is.
 
Even rentals are virtually non-existent on the west coast. The only places I've found are geared towards corporate events (and more to the presentation and live events than the capture side of things) or the film schools (which don't have any range of gear and for the most part no better than what I have). There surely has to be somewhere but they are taking great pains to hide themselves. Here in Perth they certainly make no effort to have a web presence, yellow pages ads or any other form of self-promotion. Most the advertised businesses don't actually exist or turn out to be something else when you call or visit them.

I've actually stumbled across more video production contacts through the random encounter of fixing phones, foxtel and internet (I work for Telstra) than through any form of advertising. Almost exclusively doing training videos but even most of that work is contracted east. Can't even find c-stands and looking at $300-500 per stand to get them shipped here. Gotta get myself to Melbourne but unfortunately my dayjob bosses won't let me transfer because I made the mistake of becoming one of the only people in my state that can do my job. If my mentor quits there's noone else to keep the tv links operating. Dammit.
