Hello, I have a shoot next week and I need to power a SmallHD DP7 to a V mount battery. SmallHD doesn't have the Hirose(4 pin female) to D-Tap cable in stock.

I am desperately looking for such cable all over the internet. B&H doesn't have it in stock either.

Do you think these 2 cables are compatible to power the SmallHD DP7 to a V mount battery?

I would appreciate any help in finding this cable that can ship expedited to Canada.

I would NEVER assume that a cable made for another device would be compatible. If you reverse the polarity you could fry your monitor. Contact a company like AbelCine to have a custom cable made. It may cost more but will be correctly manufactured for your device.

Thanks Mitch, someone messaged by at another forum about that!

Will contact AbelCine!

As much as I love smallHD, I think the cables are very fragile and they only have them sent in a few at a time, because they are ALWAYS out of stock and as soon as they come back in stock, they are gone again. That tells me that the people are constantly breaking them or they're failing(the cable that shipped with my monitor was flakey from day one). I bought two when I was able to catch them about a month ago. I'm also thinking about seeing if I can wire up my 'flying lead' hirose cable, that shipped with mine, to a power tap, it's a much thicker cable than the pre-assembled ones.

I had one of the custom-made ones from B&H for my Sound Devices PIX recorder, cost me $80 damn dollars (for a 12" cable!) and it's already ceased to work. So be wary, you don't always get what you pay for, even when you're paying top dollar.
