For the record, I really don't care if a new forum is created or not. Sometimes specific threads just peak my interest, like this one. Case in point: the "On the Lot" thread this summer. Boy, was that fun.

Even if a wedding forum comes to fruition, you'll still find the same questions sprinkled all over this entire site. (What should I use for lights? What lavalier should I buy?)

That said, if you really gotta get your "event videography" jones....you can visit a certain bovine-related site which DOES have one.

Luis, RE: The rotten music at receptions.....I was sitting at home last night on my computer relaxing, listening to Carcass and thinking, "I'm in a much better place right now than at that reception." They can break my spirit, but they can't take away my death metal!!!!

I love metal. one word.......Meshuggah

as far as the wedding mess goes, if we do it, fine...if not...it will get discussed somewhere on this board. Seems more common in the cameras sections than business right now.

"A-t L-a-s-t............... my love has come along."

Single most over-played wedding song, IMO.

:zombie_smiley:

Just be glad you guys aren't in texas....
Or do ALL weddings wind up using Shania Twain and Garth Brooks, et al.

If I have to hear "the road goes on forever" one more time......
well... you know.

And let's not even get into disco.
Why on earth would anyone play "I will survive" at their wedding reception??

omg - i soooooooooo gave up on following the debate here, but just wondering, is there going to be a wedding/event section within a business section? or not? Because i vote yes. As much as I love dvx, i found myself only goofing around in the cafe because the things that i really like to read about (event stuff) i find on ANOTHER forum. One where i don't like all the folks so much, so i don't really engage, but i do read it and i learn alot. i think it's only natural for DVXuser to offer the same. Who would it hurt? And who would it help?
Like I believe Barry said on page 1, i don't have ANY plans to be a big filmmaker. it's fun and stuff, but come on... what are the chances of really realizing such a dream? So i want to shoot events and weddings and i ALWAYS want advice, tips, ideas, etc. Especially geared towards the camera that I own.

So anyhoo, i hope this happens it would be grrrrrrrrrrrrrrreat!

The love shack is a little known place where..................... we can get to - gether.

Uggh. I took a miserable journey down a certain Atlanta hiway last night. An excursion on which I also pondered why anyone would play "I Will Survive" at their reception.

Also, there is this new horrible hip-hop song called "Suicidal" that I keep hearing at receptions. That's right, I said receptions.
