Where should I buy Cavision Mattebox?

I can't find a good dealer who sells the Cavision 3x3 Mattebox..any ideas? Also, would it be better to buy the Cavision 3x3 Mattebox or the Cinetaticcs Matteblox..I need some opinions and after looking through the site I have found no good help in this area. Thought is was ok to post. Thanks :D

Yea I bought my Cavision 4x4 matte box directly from Cavision. I am not sure if you can get them from other dealers. You can get a Cavision Director's Viewfinder at B&H though!

So should I go 4x4 or 3x3, I don't know much about matteboxes...

4 X 4 Most definatley. No question about it. Im trading up in the next week.

You do realize there is a vignetting issue with the 3x3 (?).

I just ordered my Cavision clamp-on 4x4 on Monday it will arrive at my door tomorrow (Thursday).

If you search the threads, you should find a pic of Jarred's rig with a clamp-on 4x4 and french flag. You can also order side french flags, which I did.

I thought there was something that corrected that on the 3x3?! How much are the french flags for the sides of the 4x4...and this has been bothering me...where the hell did someone come up with the name "french flag" or the lighting term "barn doors" For me "Flaps" would do. :D

I think the side flags are $39 a piece.

Yeah, they do resemble barndoors more than a true french flag.

Maybe I could machine a mattebox out of a Lowel Omni's barndoors. lol!
