Where Dose FCS2 Stand Now?

Blaine

Mr. Hollywood
FCS2 has been out awhile now and had an opportunity to correct bugs that may have been present in the initial release. The various programs, what update are they on now and what is the general concensus about where they are concerning funtionality?

I'm running on a Powerbook G4. I've bought the upgrade (FCS2) but am not really sure how much if any I want to load onto my laptop. I plan on getting a new desktop but kind of want to take a peak on my current laptop. How much of it can I really use?

G$ Powerbook...like what I have. I'd stick with FCP 5.1.4 on that....because I am. It won't get any of the benefits of the new release...ProRes, Color (color won't work)...maybe Motion 3.

Question is, DO YOU NEED TO UPGRADE? I haven't...I am doing fine with 5.1..does what i need.

Thanks, Shane. That's exactly what I wanted to know. Will I gain anything considering the platform I'm on. When I upgrade my computer, I have the software so I'll upgrade it at that time...

I'm running FCS2 on my powerbook 1.67 and I've never had a problem, One benefit is the log and transfer in fcp 6 I was surprised at how easy it was to ingest my P2 foot and edit HD on my old powerbook. I'm running 6.0.1 works great. Motion on my powerbook is not a reality, works great on my iMac C2D.

Does Color work? And I've heard there are a lot of problems with the new Soundtrack Pro.

I've only done test with color but it does work, I've dome minimal soundtrack pro work on my powerbook. I mainly use my iMac these days.

yer. there are a few bugs with soundtrack pro. I mean if im listening to phone of the loops and change the windows, say to work, FCP or something else, then go back it will come up with an error saying it needs to close.

But other than that, it works fine.

Cheers,
Nathaniel
