Where do you guys rent your gear in Los Angeles?

[justmarvin]

Any recommendations on good places to rent out film and audio gear?

I been to three rental places and they didn't have a furry windprotection for my microphone, the AKG ck98 shotgun which is 10".

You can try Samy's Camera. It's a reliable chain store in southern california. http://samys.com

thanks for the tip. I had tried samy's already but they were one of the ones that didn't have a good slip-on fuzzy for a 10" length shotgun mic.

Best for audio gear*:

Location Sound Corp.
10639 Riverside Drive
North Hollywood, CA 91602
USA

LOCATION SOUND

-or-

Coffey Sound
3325 Cahuenga Blvd. West
Hollywood, CA 90068

COFFEY SOUND

Best place to rent grip, lighting, etc:

WOODEN NICKEL LIGHTING INC.
6920 TUJUNGA AVE.
NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA 91605

WOODEN NICKEL

*Get a quote from both Coffey and Location, because for a couple/few days it could be more then $100+ difference on a package. If you have a longer rental... 4+ days... one of these places will sometimes make a better deal depending on what they have on the books.

Awesome, thanks for the recommendations!

Not audio, but for lighting/grip equipment, packages, vehicles, try Concept Lighting in Sunland.

Thanks guys.

What about renting camera packages. Any recommendations?

I'll second Matt's recommendation for the Wooden Nickel for grip packages and lighting equipment.
