Where do you find composers?

I have a team entered in a two week film competition and we are already 1 week into the contest.

Our script is written and we have shot 2/3 of the footage. We just need a composer who can work quickly to put together a score.

I posted an ad in the "Jobs" section: http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?p=763514#post763514

Does anyone have any suggestions for other places I should look for a short film composer?

Thanks,

Chris

There are two or three here on this board. They are offering their services to film makers. Do a forum search for composer.

If this is a paying gig, I can recommend a friend who is damned good, with a good credits list.

Chris, you might want to check with Edgen. If he can't do it, he knows most of the composers on the forum and my be able to put you in contact with the right person.

No pay, I'm afraid. It's just for fun.

I'll reach out to him now. Thanks,

Herman Witkam turned out the 1st draft for the Rekindled title song in 1 day and the second draft in 1 day.

He did the whole score in one day.

Basically he can score a whole short in an afternoon. The collaboration is the only thing that takes time, just due to the nature of collaboration.

Sid Barnhoorn went to the same Music for Media program as Herman in the Nertherlands and he is very good too and I suspect just as fast. They are both members.

Beginning with Sci Fest there have been "scores" of composers, and very good ones at that, hanging out here and wanting to work with us. It's riduculously fantatic actually.

Herman will treay you like you are paying him thousands of dollars even though you aren't paying him anything because he is a pro.

Edgen is another great option too.

Those are jus the three whose work I know best.

Oh aslo, Arron Marshal "Noct"

Right now there is a composer thread in the Drama Fest section.
