where can I get free still photo's as samples

Hey there.
I am looking for still photo's for a script.
The theme of which warfare, sex, drugs, Political - religious - and social injustice.

I don't know where to find photos or clips that doesn't have a copyright protection.
Also am I allowed to use whatever I can find on the net, since it is only a short film.

No, you are not allowed to use whatever you find on the net, whether it's a short film or not. Most everything you find on the net, with few exceptions, will be covered by copyright. You can ask the copyright owner for permission to use the material in your project.

What you should do is Google "Stock Image" If I recall correctly
then those images are all owned or submitted to be owned by a company
that hands them out for free - if you are a member of their site.

I dont know if there's a similar thing for video, but its probably rare.

Comes in handy often.

You can go to Wikimedia Commons, and use the "Public Domain" filter. Or filter by one of the free use licenses as long as you can abide by them.

Deviant Art had a stock photo section, if I remember correctly
