Are you talking about 24 feet or 24 inches? If you are talking inches, try looking at the Photoflex Cinedome softboxes. They fairly reasonable.

You can also blast through or bounce off silk, but a softbox is kinda like having flags built into your silk.

You would be surprised how big soft boxes get and how they're aren't quite as unmanagable as you expect. 24x24" is pretty small.

6'X6', 8'X8', 12'X12' and 20'X20' are common frame sizes that can be used with corresponding silks.

Matthews, Modern, American, Avenger and other companies make them.

If you're going on the cheap I'd look into sewing some bedsheets together. Depends on the kind of diffusion you want.

I should have mentioned 24x24" for this budget it would be cheaper to get frames/silks.
