Im looking for a good short or feature film editor in the Los Angeles area for the month of August maybe more. I tried Craigslist but the talent level I need for this project I cant seem to find on there.
I have professionally shot my film, with great sound and stunts and have some big name people who are my friends helping but they dont know editors. Anyone know a site where I can see some great editing and know they are from the area?
Any help would be great,
Thanks

If you want to work in the film industry I think an IMDB Pro account is a must.

I'd recommend you join the Wisconsin Screenwriters Forum. It's $50/year and includes free access to IMDB Pro, Daily Variety Online, Hollywood Creative Directory Online, Tracking Board, etc.

Craigslist is NOT the place to look for talent...

Now, is this a PAID job, or not? Trying to get editors on non-paying jobs is tough...typically has to be friends or friends of friends, or worth their while in other ways.

www.editorsguild.com has a talent directory too.

God, throw a rock in LA and you'll find an editor. No, wait, that's an ACTOR.

Also mandy.com. Forget ACE those are union editors expecting union rates. Finding one willing to work for low/no without a prior connection is impossible. Try contacting some film schools in L.A.- USC, UCLA, AFI. You may get lucky.
