Where are the wireless mics with recording capabilities?

Get a voice recorder and plug a lav mic into it. Problem solved. No transmitting, just record right on the subject/talent. Get it off of ebay and save 90%. Watch videos on YouTube for specific models and brands.

Tascam DR10L does this much better than a Zoom H1 etc

However... Without wireless you have no way to monitor it. Which is a major handicap.

I have the DR10L and use it at times. But monitoring is the problem. Lavaliers are notorious for having issues, rubbing cables, wind infiltration, cable wear and tear, etc. and thus it really should be continually monitored. Not to mention making sure the level is right is difficult. I'm always extremely nervous using it.
