A. "interest cost" is the premium Warner pays the BANK to borrow $315m for negative cost (production)
$315m x (18.2%) = $57m (reasonable rate considering film is a high risk investment)
Total to bank = $373m (of course this is inflated and part of the loop, but its on the books)
B. Where debt is held in check is on the 34% distribution fee. $211m
BTW, on tent-poles & Franchises Exhibiters splits are closer to:
Distributor / Exhibiter
week 1: 90% - 10%
week 2: 80% - 20%
week 3: 70% - 30%
week 4: 60% - 40%
Overview:
1. Bank = 18.2%
2. Distributer = 34%
Do you really believe you can get ahead and out of debt if someone took 52% of your paycheck ?
And last.... the killer is that this statement does not show the Tax subsidies
$315m @ 30%^ = $95m tax credit.
Lets have a bake sale and sing.
Cheers
