They're called laurels. Not sure where to get them, I believe some festivals provide them.

You could do a search for them on google or create them in photoshop.

I'm checking from a friend where we got the ones we used in are film one sheets, dvd covers, etc.

They might have been provide by the festivals that we won, but I'm sure you can get them somewhere.

When she responds I'll pass on the information.

thanks guys...you know my 70min long feature was accepted to FUTURE OF FILM (JUTRO FILMU) local medium size internat.film festival in Warsaw, Poland.
It is funny...i shot this movie just to learn editing on vegas and check if I can do it on my laptop :) so me and my girlfriend were actors and prod. crew...there was no script too :) but they called us and fly us to Europe for the festival they even pay for the hotel :) jesus what should i do now?
Should I tell them the truth about the "produciton" or just say thanks for invitation and pretend that this "movie" is exactly the way it is because I WANTED IT TO BE LIKE THIS/
It is something I didnt expect, I sent the first cut which also is not perfect as far as basics of editing and now they are going to screen it ... after the screening there will be AWARDS CEREMONY so i guess there will be tons of people on the screening waiting for the Ceremony ... jesus .... should i stay cool and admit how the movie was made and that i just wanted to learn editing or say: "yeah this dogma like picture was exactly what i was aiming for" heheheh

Hey Voytek, ever seen Mike Leigh's film naked? Your method is similar in that the dialogue in Leigh's film was mostly improvised by the actors. It's an awesome movie.

I say milk the event. :cheesy:

congrats

congrats

You might as well go along with the praise.

No filmmmaker actually makes the film they envisioned. But now that you've made it, and other people enjoy it, it has taken on a life of its own. Have a good time, and stay humble.

Who cares how it was made. If they liked it that's what counts.

I worked on a film where the directors where sisters and fought like cats and dogs and they ended up winning best director at two festivals.

The viewer never saw the fighting all they saw was the finished product.

what do you mean by "milk the event" ?

... it is not a documentary but... the main characters played by me and my gril friend want to become a filmmakers (in poland) but they have no money for a film shcool so fly to NYC and work to make some money for the film school. While in NYC they acturally made a movie (in the story) and this is ending. After THE END you see me talking to my girlfriend when we decide to just DO IT without waiting until we finihs film shool.... so The story of those 2 guys is actually our REAL STORY.
It may look like a doc cos we wanted it have this feel...good you sensed it. :)

Ok, so I am going to "milk this event" (actualyy we got accepted into another film festial this time with 30 min version of the movie - i shortened it to be able to submitt it to short film festivals)

lets make a move! voytek

Milk the event. Take advantage of it. Enjoy yourself, use the publicity to your advantage. Milk it.

Voytek, I've seen you here for a while, and greatly enjoy your posts. I just saw that you are Polish! Not that you or anyone else gives a rip, but tommorow morning I am filming a traditional Polish wedding at a HUGE Catholic church! The groom is Polish and his family just flew into the US and came to the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner tonight. It was pretty cool, but when I needed them to quit looking at the camera and act like they were watching the wedding (to edit into the ceremony, since Im not allowed to rove) they had no idea what I was saying! Rock on Voytek!
