when to use your adapter?

it's my understanding that there are times that one might not need to use his/her adapter. I haven't had mine for long enough to know when those times are, so I'm coming to you guys for the answer. when do you find yourself not using it when shooting a film? long, wide shots? any specific times when shooting indoors? etc. etc.

any help is greatly appreciated.

I use my adapter as much as possible. We even used it a couple of times on some basic run n gun interviews all around the town, but we found out that it wasn't really the optimal thing to do. So, whenever it's not run n gun jobs, and if I bring lights/ if I'm, outdoors, I use my adapter.

If it wouldn't be for all the extra weight, lightloss and fuss with adjusting stuff I would never take it off.

I use the adapter all the time for filming movies and only change the lenses to get the picture I want. I would only shoot without the adapter when I need some steadycam shots but on my last movie we used a Canon 7D for that.
I don't use the adapter for concerts or interviews.
