When to use and What gels to use with Vidled Lights

When I got my Vidled lights it came with a pack of gels. I have the superbright light with the dimmer. I've used the light without the gels before and white balanced the camera but for some reason it almost had a bluish look on the faces of people I was interviewing. I remember seeing a crew from BET Networks in town shooting a segment for a reality show and the whole camera crew was using Litepanels LED lights with clear CTO gels on them. That shoot was early in the morning when it was still dark right into the early morning hours of daylight. I didnt noticed the bluish tint on people they shot either.

So I have a shoot today/night. First shoot will be inside so should I use just the light wih no gels or use the clear CTO gel to help soften the light more? I have shoot tonight in a baseball stadium under the bright stadium lights where I need to interview some of the players on the field. Do I use the same gel or switch to the Orange CTO to help match daylight? The game will start during daylight but it will be dark by the time its over. I could also go with just the light and use the dimmer too?

What is the best option? No gel at all - just use dimmer? Use Clear CTO to help soften the light and to match 3200k (indoor or outside at night) or Orangish CTO gel for outside footage to match 5600k daylight?

Clear CTO?
That´s like white red wine...
For your problem: I`d go to a dark room, turn on the Vidled and whitebalance to it.
Now the cam should see the light from the Vidled (around 8000K) as pure white (this will warm up anything else!).
Keep that setting and warm up with 1/4 or 1/2 CTO according to taste.
If the stadium light is of daylight temperature or above, this should blend nicely...
