When I render in Vegas I only use 60% of my CPU

I have an Intel 3.2 and the CPU usage meter never gets over 60% even when I am rendering a long video. You guys get similar results?

Is there a way to get Vegas to use the full power of my CPU so my renders are faster?

It probably only uses what it needs...

....but if you wanmt to experiment, you can go to the Task Manager | Processes, find Vegas and right-click on it...then set the Set Priority to something higher. Above Normal, High, or Realtime.

You'll get a warning, but go ahead anyway.

It may make no real difference in render times, though. I don't know...never tried it...

To maximize your CPU usage you could render two parts of your project simulltaneoulsy using top instances of Vegas, or you can set up a network render using two render nodes on the same computer (a bit complicated, but explained in detail on my Vegas 5 Companion video).
