When I compress files as WMV they get cut off?

I have been lurking here several months now and I finally made a decision to buy a dvx100b from a member in this group. I love the camera and it is working beautifully with my FCP 5.1 on a G4. (Soon to be a G5). All that said I have a problem when I create a quicktime conversion wmv. I can make quicktime movies fine, but the
WMV movies get cut off after about minute. These are small clips, after compression, taking up only a couple of MB, and 60 to 90 sec. long, 340x240. I tried compressing as AVI and it did that, it just seems WMV has a problem. I went to preferences on my Mac but frankly, I'm not that familiar with Tiger 10.4. By the way, I did do a search but after 15 pages I decided to ask directions. I would appreciate any help.

I think the program you want to look into is Flip4Mac WMV Studio. I believe that will help you accomplish your conversion. There's at least a couple of folks around here that swear by it.

cheers.

Thanks, I will look into it. I've seen it mentioned but never have checked it out.
