so bacially everyone works for free. it's just a movie for fun.
but after submitting it to a festival and actually winning something what do you do?

what's the typical share for everyone? (in percentage)

how much should the Director get?
how much should the actor/actress get? (lead, co-lead, etc ?)
what about the editor? grip? producer? music creater? writer?

what's the best way to split it without any drama?

If you planned to enter into a festival with cash prize you should have had that decided ahead of time to make sure no one can argue.

Point distribution should be done, in my opinion, based on contributions. The amount of time, effort and monetary cost that person put into the project. This may or may not take equipment into account, depends on your situation. If one person bought everything he should probably get a decent cut.

good point,

yeah I should have done some kind of paper work before but it was just my friends so we just go with the flow :)

btw, say if we did do Point distribution, what's the most typical percentage for actors/actress? directors? editors? writer? musice creator?

When people work deferred, it's commonly understood they are working for fre. When a festival is won. no money goes to anyone. If 4 people work on a project and prize money is won from a contest, that's 25 percent per person, no matter what role thay opted for.
