What's your computer set up look like?

Lol. No. The gaming machine is under the desk. It's the black one. I do use the chess board for correspondence chess though. Much fun.

As for the tapes, I really don't care. Most of them just have junk on them (no content worth saving), and as most of them are TDK's, they will never be put in the DVX so as to dirty the heads with their wet-lube nastiness. Just for fun, I should test the tapes in a different camera (have to borrow one from someone), and see if anything has happened to them. If nothing has, they will be going in a tape rack from EVS (as soon as it comes), which will get them away from the speakers.

And this is my little new puppy.

Man that is a cute dog, your dog rocks to Sirius. Dogs rule.

Ok sorry, back on topic.

I seriously doubt those little computer speakers would damage the tapes. They should be shielded very well. Don't set them on your subwoofer though....

That looks like a TV control room. Where the hell is the rewind button? "Camera three fade to back, camera 1 get a tight shot of that one chick, camera 2 zoom!"

....i think the rewind button is near that white button on the right side of the very big board of white buttons.........have fun finding it

Lol. Yeah. When I first got the speaker set, I set the subwoofer by my monitor. Distortion reigned supreme. The sattelites seem to be pretty well shielded though.

Alright don't flame me for an organized desk, I can't work unless the place is clean and lacking in light, hence the flash. And yes that is a fire extinguisher under my desk. You never know.

Hey no problem with safety. I've got one mounted on the wall right by the door to my office. You can't see it in my photos.

I have alot more equipment in a rack off to the right. I pull 19 amps when everything is on, a bit too much for my comfort without a fire extinguisher, especially in an old building like mine.

Here's mine.

Um...well...it will be. The carpet is in the trunk of my car, the computers are in the bedroom and livingroom. The near-field monitors are sitting at my parents' house 4000 miles away. And the rest of the stuff is scattered even more thoroughly.

I'm hoping the DV fairies come and put everything together while I'm away on vacation.

whoa!!! I dig the desk. is that custom or off the shelf?
Also, did it come with the rolling wheels?

Yes it came with the wheels, you can pick it up at GuitarCenter or several different online music stores. The only thing I wish is that it had rear mounting for the rack spaces, but being made for audio alot of the equipment isn't that heavy. I have a rack mountable battery backup that I can't mount because it is too heavy. I also changed the keyboard tray, the stock one was too small. It is solid and well worth the money I paid for it.

I'm currently on a Dell, but I'm upgrading to a MacPro this week and two new monitors, one for editing, the other for playback. My chair has a subwoofer behind the back and two speakers in the headrest. The workstation was custom built, part by part. It's quite a conversation piece. Everyone that comes into my house is amazed by it and they either say it looks like something out of "The Matrix" or "Star Trek". I can work for 18 hours without blinking an eye, very ergonomic and comfortable.

I'll post a new photo after I have the new monitors and tower next week.

Current computer is a XP 2700+

Over 4 years old, so I'm upgrading when Core2 becomes mainstream in Feb. Laptop is Pentium M, so it gets me by whenever the main computer is rendering. Also have a few backup PCs, one webserver and a Dual 700 Server I use as a DC. I want to try to utilize the CPU power and try the render farm action w/ Vegas but haven't had time to set it up, anyone else done it with Vegas 6?
