I'd love to see someone bringing out an M18 in it's hard case out of the trunk of their Corolla ;-)
I've used the Fiilex q1000 and its pretty easy to work with (size) , and has a good punch

I think that 3'x3' source will provide a lot more diffusion than a 6'x6' with any LED source. As noted in this thread, double diffusion with an HMI level source is really needed to get decent light output and high diffusion at that size
Sorry jcs, this is not true. Naked s-60 skypanels get pushed through 6x6 frames all the time and would give much softer lighting than the 3x3 panel you linked, even if you haven't evenly filled the diffusion. 4x 2'x8' tile lights can easily fill an 8x8. Also, you could use 4x 3x3s you linked through a 6x6 and it'd be pretty bright and easily fill the diffusion frame.
What's your preferred light(s) to punch through a 6x6 grid?

EDIT: I don’t see how the S60 can provide the same even diffusion. If you’re talking about LEDs with similar large area as the 3’x3’ example, it’s the same concept/design. I searched for a quantum dot cloth- when something like that is available it won’t need any diffusion. The 3’x3’ example video uses supplied diffuser.
I'm not talking about matching how evenly the 3x3 has filled the diffusion, I'm saying the end result with the 6x6 is still going to be a softer (more diffused) light, unless the light is placed right up against the 6x6.
