What's this called?

I've got a shoot coming up and I'm looking to get a frame made that has a cut-out of a client's logo. Basically I'd put it over the light and then project their logo on the wall. What the name of that frame called? I need to find a company that makes them.
THX!

Are you wanting a custom gobo to put in a leko? The DP I work with got one made, but I'll have to ask him where he got it done at.

Thats it!
Thanks. I'll look around online, I can probably find a producer now that I know the actual name of it.

Let me know if you don't have any luck and I'll ask him when I talk to him next. If i remember they were made at one place, but he had to go through another place to actually order it from.

Check with your local film/lighting rental company or a lighting director at your local theatre. Stage productions often use them and they can probably direct you. You will need an instrument designed to use one however.

Where are you? You should be able to get these done by Barbizon or other regional lighting company. If they sell patterns, they should be able to place the custom logo order.

Look into glass gobos too, they'll allow for better quality and use of color. Get both prices for the client anyway.

I like the idea of DIY (doing it yourself) but, Poster board might heat up a little too much and smoke; setting off smoke alarms, sprinklers, insurance claim agents and attorneys beside the fire department. A heat resistance material might be more suitable. Multi-layered Black Wrap might work.

I think custom gobos are about $50 or $35 - we used to have them cut for S4s all the time when I did staging. A Source Four can be rented for less than $15 a day with various lenses for different diameters. Do it right.
