I need to get 1hr off footage on a cd rom to play on a PC ...Not sure if the pc has a dvd drive whats the best way to do this...Thank you

h264 should be nearly universal. The .mov would work depending on what you put in it, and you could assure the PC user had quicktime installed. AVI off the Mac is likely to be more problematic than anything.

I been exporting different ways for 5 hours... Whats the best way to get 1hr of footage onto a cd rom / for pc viewing ...Im frustrated!! lol

you want 1hr of video on a CD.... you don't want much do you?!

Ok, two questions

1. Is it SD or HD
2. What are you using to make this? FCP? Mpeg Streamclip?

You didn't SAY it had to play in windows media player. You said it had to play on a PC. It will play in quicktime. It will play in VLC, you SHOULD be able to open it with a modern web browser like Firefox or IE7/8.

I don't know that the Mac is capable of creating a WMV file, which is the native type to Windows media player. So an h.264 is the next best thing.

ended up creating an Mpeg1 - was able to fit 1hr on a cd rom and it looked desent and played fine on wmp.
