What's the largest Kata bag I can take on a plane?

I'm wondering what the largest Kata bag i can take as a carry-on on a plane is. I'm thinking of getting a bag from them, and that's pretty much my only consideration. I have a certificate for that brand so I'm just looking at them. If anyone has another Kata bag they happen to love, I'd love to hear about it.

i have the bp207 and it will fit in the overhead of larger planes. i fly out of a smaller airport so a lot of times i'm stuck on tiny commuter planes with little interior room. sometimes i can get away with jamming the bag under the seat. some flight attendants won't care but some will get pissed about it, especially if they notice it after we've pulled from the gate.

The biggest Kata bag I've ever managed to stuff in the overhead on a plane is the CC-197. It didn't quite fit in the economy section of a 767, but luckily the first class was fairly empty that flight, and so I asked the flight attendant if I could keep it in the overhead there.
You have to watch out for bags that are bigger than 12" in width or height, they just might not fit.

12" width. Really? I think its common to have a backpack where the width is bigger than 12".
Hmm... ok, let me re-state that again... "You have to watch out for bags that are bigger than 12" in width AND height." My bag is 12.5" in both directions and did not fit regardless of how I positioned it... At least for economy class on a 767.

Hello. I work for Kata Bags and saw this thread, so I though I might as well answer.

The biggest bag you can put on an airplane really depends on your specific airline's regulations. The OMB 77 some one had linked to is way too big for all the airlines I'm familiar with. It's huge. The biggest bag by Kata that should fit most airlines regulations is probably the FlyBy 76 Pro Light. As you can tell by it's name - it was designed to act as a carry on bag on flights, and is quite roomy.

I was worried about traveling with the OMB77. I only tried it on Southwest and it barely fit in the overhead. One comment on your gear... Great bag, but having "Pro Video" written on top does not give me confidence that it will arrive at my destination if checked rather than carried. Might as well put a "steal me" sticker on it.

Actually, we stopped doing that - now it's just our (new) logo.

I have the Kata 207 that pack a lot in it. Will only work in the larger roomier jets in the overhead bin. TIP: 1) The earlier you get on the flight the better chance you have of finding a bin that isn't full already. 2) Practice schmoozing the stewardess & ask if she wants to be in your film.

Happy trails,

Ken
