What's the ideal recoding mode for output to DVD and BD?

I shoot weddings and my standard package consists of Blu-Ray and SD DVD.

What's the best acquisition resolution/frame rate in order to output to both?

I don't like the 60i/p look because it's too "home made".

I'm not a fan of 24p because it's difficult to shoot and blurry on the pans.

I like the look of 30p but neither BD nor NTSC support it legally....so......

Anyone have any suggestions?

If you like 30P, use it. It'll get embedded within 60i for recording, but both blu-ray and SD DVD will play it back just fine. As far as they're concerned it's 60i.

I see...so it'll play play back as 60i but have the 30p look?

Yep. That's how pretty much all camcorders that do 30p, implement it -- as "30p over 60i".
