What's the difference in these two mics

We have been shooting a low budget movie. For indoor we have been using a Oktava MK-012 but it has stopped working. A friend has giving me the use of a audio-technica AT 3525. Are these two mics anywhere near the same quality of sound? Thank you.

Never mind comparing quality, these two mics aren't even close to be similar in attributes or usage. The Oktava is an end-address "pencil" mic with a hypercardioid pattern, well suited for use on a boom as a dialog mic. The AT3525 is a side-address studiio mic with a cardioid pattern, designed as a stand-mounted mic with the talent working much closer to the mic than would be the case when recording dialog for film or video. It's totally inappropriate for booming due to its size, weight, and the difficulty aiming a side-address mic properly, as well as the fact that it needs to be used at around 10 inches from the subject's mouth. It's not that one mic might or might not be better sounding than the other, it's that they are so different in purpose that in this application quality comparisons are meaningless.
