Whats the difference between these 3 Vegas books?

After seeing these books mentioned favorable here I went to 'Amazon' and found the discriptions to be very similar. The first book is the most expensive but that seems to be the only difference. I'm a very new beginner to any NLR and just got Vegas 5.0 so I'm sure they'll all help me but If anyone can narrow the choice here I'd appreciate it.

Let me preface by saying that I'm the author of one of the books, a co-author of another, so it's not fair for me to comment, but I'm famous for commenting where I shouldn't. ::)

Vegas Editing Workshop is nearly 500 pages of print, plus a filled DVD of nearly 1K loops, lots of software, media, and more. It also has 25 additional chapters/tutorials on the DVD. It's text based with supporting graphics.

Instant Vegas is 256 pages of task-based Vegas instruction, co authored by Jeffrey P. Fisher and myself. It's mostly graphic based. (lotsa pictures)

Naked Vegas isn't a bad book, but I'll toss this in the ring;
The author isn't a Vegas user, wasn't a Vegas user before he wrote the book. I suspect Thompson wanted to get a book out after Vegas 4 Editing Workshop set some Amazon and Booklist sales records. In one example, the author usesTrack Motion to do what Pan Crop should be doing. (loss of resolution using this method) He also fails to demonstrate how to do fades.

My book, and our Instant Vegas book certainly doesn't cover every single nook and cranny that could be covered in Vegas for every single user and their workflow on the planet. That's simply not doable, and I'd never suggest that any one book is ever enough for anyone anyway. I bought Naked Vegas, and it's got some good info. But the workflow isn't just different, it's DIFFERENT. But it does have some gems for readers, I'm sure. I just didn't find the Ah-HAH! that I tend to find in a lot of books.
On the other hand, Doug Sahlen's books on Encore and other Adobe products are quite good. I also wrote a book on Encore, and didn't find his Encore book to be wanting of anything when I read it. In other words, I learned different thought processes in his Encore book.
I hope I'm being as objective as possible, but it's darn hard when you have already written 4 books on the subject. ;D

I'm currently reading Spot's Vegas 5 Editing Workshop and I'd strongly recommend it to anyone at less than an advanced or expert level in Vegas. At less than $35, it's a no-brainer, considering the wealth of clearly presented information. The DV Expert series of books is extremely solid and I haven't found one yet that didn't exceed my expectations.

I gotta say this is kind of cool. I ask a question and I get a response from the author himself! I knew there was something about this site I liked. Thanks for the info. Since I'm as new to editing as a person can be it sounds like the first book with the DVD is how I'll go. I've read quiet a few raves about it and now that you explained the differences between the books I'm all set.
