Whats the difference between Bolide 88w and Audio Technica 88w?

I'm trying to figure out what the difference is between these lav setups... On B&H there is a $100 price jump to the Bolide PRO 88w over the Audio Technica PRO 88w. Both of them look exactly the same, and even both have Audio Technica written on them, the only difference is the pictures are taken from different angles. They have the exact same specs, and every other site I've found with them, say the same as B&H. I just don't understand why one of them says it's made by Bolide on the site and it's $100 more. I went to the Bolide website and it says something along the lines of "The most advanced wireless microphone system available".. or something to that extent.

Just curious because I have one of these, and was wondering how much it's worth. Don't know if it's the "Bolide" or "Audio Technica" since apparently they're exactly the same other than price lol.

Anyone on here know anything about these wireless systems?

The do appear to be very similar, perhaps even the same units with different branding. The price difference is probably as simple as AT knowing they'll make up the per-unit profit in volume. Whatever the true difference, both are very cheap VHF wireless systems. I wouldn't recommend any VHF system for production or live sound. Wireless isn't an area where you want to try and cut your costs.

Yeah I knew they weren't all that great. I got mine for free a couple years ago and haven't used it once. I was just curious about them going under two different names even though both brands clearly have the AT branding on it. A producer I'm working with wanted me to make a list of the cost of all my equipment so I wanted to figure out what it was worth.

I'd assume Boldie, which appears to be a CCTV company, just bought units in volume from AT and slapped their own logo and markup on the things.

In terms of re-sale value, I'd guess that the AT branded units would fetch closer to their original price, just trading on the name.

Wow, that's really weird. You'd think that they'd at least put a little sticker over the AT logo before they sell it as their own.
