whats the cheapest 35mm lens, i want to get one, bad. also, what is the best matte box you can get. i want one of those too.

Cheapest lens but best matte box? I'd reverse those priorities.

I use the chrosziel matte box for the DVX -- only have the french flag right now. Has 2 4x4 filter stages... no problems as long as you keep it well maintained (keep everything properly tightened).

Why don't you spend 30 seconds googling for some options, then present those options to us and get our opinion on those? It would be one thing if you were trying to figure out how to use a varicam for the first time, or build your own dolly. I have a question for you, whats the cheapest rolex? i want one of those, bad.

by 35mm lens i am assuming you are talking about 35mm adapters so that you can use 35mm lenses on your xl2. the letus35 is pretty cheap for a non commerical 35 adapter it is around 300. Then you will have to buy a lens to attach but 35mm lenses have been around for almost a century and can range from extremely cherap used ones to a extremely expensive lieca. Not trying to be offensive avery, but i dont think you should be concerned about matt boxes or lenses just yet, first begin to master what you is possible with the equipment you already have and then play with more specific toys. A 35mm adapter isnt going to do anyhting for you except maybe destroy your lens threads unless you understand Dof v.s Field of view properly.
